I. Project Content

Jilin Province is located in the northeast of China and is renowned for its rich resources and magnificent and beautiful natural scenery. Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province, is an important economic and cultural center, one of the most important bases of China’s automobile and film industries, and a colorful city integrating history, tradition and modern development. In order to further promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, introduce the excellent traditional culture of China, deepen foreign students’ understanding and experience of the Chinese language, and stimulate the enthusiasm of Chinese and foreign students to learn Chinese, the project takes “Artistic Tour in the Northern Spring City, Encounter of Chinese and Foreign Students with Ingenuity” as the theme and conducts a series of cultural characteristic activities.

This project relies on the professional advantages and high-quality teacher resources of Changchun Normal University, with cultural experience and Interesting Chinese as the main teaching contents, so that the students participating in this summer camp can have a more intuitive understanding of the traditional culture in the northeast of China and personally experience the charm of the northeast film city, automobile city and historical and cultural city in China, thus promoting foreign teenagers’ understanding of Chinese culture and promoting the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign cultures.

II. Planned Implementation Time

From June 25th to July 4th, 2025 (a total of 10 days)

III. Enrollment Targets

The project is open to college students from Spain, France and Russia, and plans to enroll 15 - 20 students.

IV. Courses Design

The courses mainly include three parts: cultural experience, language courses, and communication and interaction.

(I) Cultural Experience

1. Experience of Traditional Culture in the Northeast: Under the guidance of the lecturer, the team will visit the Northeast Folk Museum to comprehensively understand the characteristic cultures such as the house styles, folk customs, dietary characteristics, and language characteristics in the northeast.

2. Experience of Automobile Culture: Visit the Red Flag Exhibition Hall of Changchun First Automobile Workshop. Through the four-in-one display method of text, pictures, physical objects, and explanations, the exhibition fully shows the development of Changchun First Automobile Workshop and highlights the cultural connotation of Red Flag brand, leading students to understand the development history of China's automobile manufacturing industry.

3. Experience of Film Culture: Changchun Film Studio is one of the earliest film studios in China and has produced many excellent films, witnessing the development process of Chinese films. Lead students to visit Film Museum and watch excellent films and animated film clips produced by Changchun Film Studio, and let students learn language knowledge during the movie-watching process to promote the excellent culture of China.

4. Visit and tour other representative cultural and natural scenic spots in Jilin Province.

(II) Language Courses

According to the different language levels of the group members, design corresponding language courses. Relying on the excellent teacher resources of the College of Liberal Arts, with “Hello Chinese” as the main lecture course material, through introducing Chinese characters, daily shopping, Chinese cuisine, family members and other contents, combine language learning with cultural introduction, group members can establish a preliminary understanding of Chinese and increase their interest in learning and understanding Chinese. At the same time, traditional cultural courses such as classical dance, traditional Chinese painting, martial arts, and paper-cutting are also prepared, so that students can better experience the essence of traditional Chinese culture in addition to language learning.

(III) Communication and Interaction

We will organize exchanges and interactions between Chinese and foreign students to enhance mutual understanding.
